How to Use the Palworld Breeding Calculator

Breeding in Palworld is one of the most rewarding and complex systems in the game. Whether you're trying to create a powerful combat Pal with stacked passives or simply trying to unlock a rare species, our free Palworld Breeding Calculator takes all the guesswork out of the equation.

  1. Select Parent 1 and Parent 2 from the dropdowns. Preview cards show each Pal's element type, base stats, and passive skills.
  2. Click "Calculate Breeding" to instantly see the predicted offspring, its type, base stats, and inherited passives.
  3. Use Reverse Lookup if you already know which Pal you want — the calculator lists every parent combination that can produce it.
  4. Filter by Passive Skills to see only combinations that give your desired buffs like Ferocious, Swift, or Musclehead.

Palworld Breeding Formula — How It Works

Palworld uses a numeric "Breeding Power" system internally. Every Pal has a unique breeding power value. The game calculates the offspring using this formula:

Child Power = (Parent1 Power + Parent2 Power + 1) / 2

Offspring = Pal whose Power is closest to Child Power

If two Pals have the same breeding power value, a unique fusion result is produced (e.g., Lyleen + Menasting = Lyleen Noct). Our calculator applies this exact formula across all 137+ Pals and their variants.

Understanding Passive Skills in Palworld

Passive skills are arguably the most important part of end-game Palworld breeding. Each Pal can carry up to 4 passive skills, and when two Pals breed, the offspring has a roughly 50% chance to inherit each skill from either parent — up to 2 total. There is also a small chance (~10%) for a completely random passive to appear.

Tips to Get the Best Offspring Faster

  • Stack same-type passives first. Build a Pal with 4 good passives across 2 generations before aiming for the final target species.
  • Use Alpha Pals as base stock. Wild Alpha Pals often carry rare passive skills naturally.
  • Breed at Night for Noct variants. Time of breeding doesn't affect outcome — only parent combinations matter for Noct variants.
  • Build multiple Breeding Farms. Run parallel breeding pairs to hit passive RNG faster.
  • Use Cake efficiently. Every breed consumes one Cake — stock up before a marathon session.

Frequently Asked Questions

As of the latest update, Palworld has 137+ base Pals plus their variants (Noct, Lux, etc.), giving over 150 total breedable entries. Our calculator covers all of them including all fusion variants.

Yes! Breeding two identical Pals (e.g., two Anubis) will always produce the same species as offspring. This is actually the most reliable way to stack passive skills onto a target Pal across multiple generations.

Each passive skill from either parent has approximately a 50% chance of being passed down. The offspring can inherit up to 2 passives total. There's also a ~10% chance of a random passive appearing regardless of parents, which can add or waste a passive slot.

Gender matters for pairing (you need one male and one female), but it does not affect which offspring species results. Pal levels also do not influence the offspring species — only the breeding power formula determines the child.

Yes. Our calculator is regularly updated with each major Palworld patch to include new Pals, variants, and any changes to breeding power values. We'll always note the patch version in the calculator header.
